Around Kawanishi-Noseguchi Station
The transportation improvement project around Kawanishi-Noseguchi station (grade separation and linking), which the government of Hyogo Prefecture and Kawanishi city had been working on since 1980, was completed in 1997.
Upon this improvement, Hankyu and Nose Railway stations were merged into a single station. The present Kawanishi-Noseguchi station has a common platform making transfers from one train to another much more convenient for commuters. Limited express trains run directly from Nose Railway's Nissei-chuo station to Hankyu Railway's Umeda station during peak hours.
The Kawanishi-Inagawa Highway was opened in 1996. Before these improvements, the railroad track crossed the main road in Kawanishi, which runs north and south, and the road was limited to only one lane per direction. The road was notorious for its many traffic jams. With this new road, the flow of traffic is improved, and cars can move smoothly throughout the city.
