Yamashita

In the northern part of the square shaped town of Yamashita and Gezai, there is a small hill where Yamashita Castle, the residence of Shiokawa clan, used to be in the Azuchi Momoyama era, about 500 years ago.
Yamashita station was elevated from the original position in 1975 and since then it has been an important junction of Myokenguchi and Nissei-chuo directions. Moreover since 1997 Nissei-chuo station and Umeda station (Hankyu Railway) have been connected directly by the limited express trains during rush hour.

Municipal Kawanishi Hospital

Municipal Hospital originally used to be where Kawanishi City Hall and the Public Health Center are now standing.
But a new general hospital needed to be constructed because many more medical facilities were necessary due to an increase of population and also there was a plan to make the Nose Railway elevated around the hospital. As the result, Municipal Kawanishi Hospital was moved to Higashiuneno in 1983 where it is now.
