Sister City Library Exchange
The Sister City Library Exchange Agreement was established between both cities in May, 2000 for deepening cross-cultural understanding. Since then, the Kawanishi Public Library exchanges books with the Bowling Green Public Library and the Western Kentucky University Library every year.
At present about fifty books sent from both libraries are exhibited for public reading at the corner "The Sister City Library" in the Kawanishi Public Library. The books, which are about Kentucky State and the U.S. as well as Bowling Green City, are worth reading to understand their culture including their literature and English.
This activity will continue to foster the friendship with our sister city.
