The Dragon Land Map

This project was started in December 1998. The 60,000 square meters area was maintained around the Inagawa River and 14,700 square meters around the Obana/Obe area under the Expressway as a park "The dragon land".
Around the bank along Inagawa River, there is a cycling road which is 3 meters wide and 1,381 meters long. This is a road for only pedestrians and bicycles. "The stream way" is set up as a playing zone for children. This stream way is 250 meters long and is an area for relaxation.
There is a park around Obana area (11,000 square meters) and Obe area (3,700 square meters) under the Hanshin Expressway. This park has some meeting rooms, multipurpose zone and public lavatory. Also, the city symbol cherry blossoms are planted in an 800 meter long space.

The 133 meters long dragon play equipment

The large space for equipment is set up in the Obana area under the Expressway and the equipment is designed for a dragon based on a Kawanishi city myth. The white dragon and the blue dragon stand face to face. The body of the dragon is made of the 2.5 meters across rings which are put on like a tube. Inside of the tube, there are twelve kinds of playing equipment like a crossing net, a floating balance beam, a flying rings, a net tunnel, a crossing log and so on. Moreover, there is a slide, a ring ledder and a climbing chain as dragon's hands and legs.

As a new symbol to tell the history of Kawanishi city. The extended part of the Hanshin Expressway Ikeda line in Kawanishi city opened in April 1998 is 1.44 kilo meters long. It is named "The Dragon Road of Kawanishi city" for "The dragon". Because Kawanishi city is familiar with a dragon like "The legend of the nine heads dragon", thus people proposed to name like that. The local people cooperated to maintain both the Expressway and the area under the Expressway and made "The dragon land" coming now as a new symbol to hand down the history and the culture of Kawanishi city.

※Use the public transport facilities to "The dragon land".
