Around JR Kawanishi-Ikeda Station

Until the railroad was double-tracked in 1981 the Kokutetsu (National Railway) Kawanishi-Ikeda station was located three hundred meters west of the current JR Kawanishi-Ikeda station.
The Nose line used to run the 0.6 kilometer-section from Kawanishi-Noseguchi station to Kawanishi-Kokutetsu-mae (front of Kawanishi-Kokutetsu station) for commuters headed in directions south, such as Itami or Amagasaki, via JR.
Today, a convenient pedestrian deck links Kawanishi-Noseguchi station and Kawanishi-Ikeda station.
The JR Tozai line (JR East-West Line) opened in 1995 and the numbers of trains and passengers have been increasing remarkably ever since.
